Well actually, like mentioned, it looks more like what he would have been wearing under his previous clothes. So I'll go ahead and roll with that.
As you can see he still has his lovely fishnet undershirt ^^ just cuz I love it so.

There's actually a story behind the bandages other than them looking cool (at least I like to believe they look cool XD; ) he's got this nasty habit of punishing himself with extensive training if he ever fails at something, especially at a fight. So much so that he gets lots of wounds and scars from it so he wears bandages to cover his shamful act up, that's another reason why he cover as much of his body as he can and likes to wear more baggy clothes.
